World Water Week: Experts from TNC, IDB and FEMSA Foundation, all founding partners of the LAWFP, will participate in different sessions at SIWI 2018 highlighting the role of natural infrastructure solutions for water security. - Fondos de Agua

Representatives from The Nature Conservancy (TNC), FEMSA Foundation and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will be on hand at this year’s World Water Week in Stokholm from August 26th – 31st to share insights about how the Partnership is mobilizing collaboration and investment toward Water Funds in LA to secure clean, realiable water flows, improve agricultural land use, and sustain the long-term health of the ecosystems.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals call out water in Goal 6, Clean Water and Sanitation, but in fact, water security is fundamental to achieving any kind of sustainable economic and human development. In the economics of water security, water is usually the vehicle of value, rather than its source. What if we actually invested in the most valuable solutions for our water security challenges? Are we maximizing our collective ability to implement these solutions?

These and other questions will be discussed in the different sessions in which different experts from these organizations will be participating as part of the World Water Week.
