Water Funds participating in the 8th World Water Forum - Fondos de Agua

Restoring forests, grasslands and natural wetlands, reconnecting rivers to floodplains, creating buffers of vegetation along water courses are examples of nature-based solutions that contribute to have better water quality and quantity. However, they are not enough to solve the water crisis that many of our cities are living today.

The Latin American Water Funds Partnership and the Green Blue Water Coalition will be participating altogether at the World Water Forum to highlight the role that Water Funds are playing in using natural infrastructure as a vital component to increase our resilience and build a more sustainable future.

We will have an outstanding group of high-profile experts as panelists, with extensive experience in water topics and specifically on Water Funds. Panelists will come from different parts of the world.

The World Water Forum is the major water and sanitation event worldwide. It will take place between March18th to 23rd of 2018, in Brasilia, Brazil. A special High-level session as part of the Official Program of the Forum will be focused on the role of Water Funds as financial mechanisms for long-term watershed conservation through nature-based solutions. This session will focus on good experiences and lessons learned from the implementation of the model in the Americas and experiences when replicating the model in other continents.
